Rapper Strongman and Sarkodie-led Sarkcess Music record label have parted ways.
The news of the breakup has been a chewing stick in mouths in the Ghanaian Entertainment Industry.
Fans and players have made time, taken their lenses to look and dissect the fallout.
From the Players
In sight was a tweet from Shatawale which was more like a troll to Sark. According to Wale, Sark’s inability to push Strongman’s talent shows that he is broke.
One Artiste manager by name Mr. Nick in a post on myjoyonline.com also reacted on the issue. In his comments, he believes Strongman is disrespectful. Coming from the angle that, Strongee’s tweet was directed at his former boss Sarkodie.
The man insane came around but with a very sane submission. Kwaw Kese commented on how difficult it is for an Artiste to support fellow Artistes.
Some of the fans were disappointed in Sarkodie for not doing much to help Strongman’s career.
Others especially Sarknatives were defensive of their King. They think Strongman was a nobody before signing onto Sarkcess Record Label.
What is really the meat of this divorce?
There is no smoke without fire. Certainly, something is amiss.
Strongman was one of the most young talented, promising and fast growing rappers some few years ago. With the Mic Burners records, he was spitting fire.
Judges and listeners of radio rap battle programmes always had songs of glories of him whenever he graced the shows.
His cover of R2bees’ Makoma, market 24/7 were one of his popular works.
He exudes qualities of a great rapper and his pure twi language and eloquence created thoughts that he would be Sark’s possible successor.
Therefore, it is false that strongman was a nobody or would not have made it without the Sarkcess record label as some people claim.
However, the few qualities the rapper lacks were going to be the hazard to land his career in danger some day. “Impatience and poor communication skills”.
From Interviews he’s had, one might read he is disrespectful but it is due to his lack of proper communication skills and patience.
In one of such interaction with a Kumasi based radio station, he severely criticized the media in Kumasi for showing no support to talents like himself. It’s true though but the approach to those remarks was wrong.
So Mr. Nick’s disrespectful tag only corroborates the poor communication skills of the young rapper.
Something his former management did not help him on.
Joining he was heard on tracks with Kuami Eugene “Baby Girl”, Akwaboah “Transformer”, Sarkodie and Kelvinbwoy ” Didi”.
In all, the Sarkcess label tried could not bring success to Strongman as the world expected. Perhaps, he rushed to sign to be coached by an active player who is not yet a coach.
Better late than never. The breakup us good for both parties.
Strongman should find a management that will work on him, his weakness, his person and the rest will be making history because he is talented.
